Social media has become a platform filled with the replication of images, demonstrating the rise of image-based media. Even the simplest and common of sightings, such as a sunsets, are documented and shared constantly on social media. The sharing of sightings that are actually free and visible to anyone, even without social media, draws in countless of likes. Maybe its the aesthetic, or maybe its a way for people to conveniently enjoy a sunset in the comfort of their room.
